Join us and FUTURES Photography to Explore the Role of Art in Addressing Climate Change
FEDORA's Activities
As a European network supporting opera and dance, we are committed to fostering innovation and encouraging cultural organisations to rethink how we create, collaborate and engage with audiences. Through this discussion, we will explore how artistic creation and cultural cooperation can contribute to addressing the climate crisis and advancing environmental responsibility across the cultural sector.
FUTURES is the European Photography Platform supporting the professional development of emerging artists. Founded in 2017 as a collaboration between a small group of photography organisations committed to creating long-term value for contemporary photographers, it has grown into a community connecting artists, organisations, professionals and audiences across countries, practices and photographic contexts.
We will bring together perspectives from photography, the performing arts and European cultural cooperation:
Menno Liauw, Director and Founder of FUTURES Photography
Edilia Gänz, Director of FEDORA
Stéphane Segreto-Aguilar, Director at Relais Culture Europe
The discussion will be moderated by Clara Grouzis, journalist and podcast producer at Les Echos.
Running from 9 to 15 November 2026, The Ecology of Movement brings together an exhibition and public programme examining the relationship between photography and ecological responsibility. Through artistic experimentation and alternative photographic practices, the project explores how environmental awareness can shape creative processes.
Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition freely before or after our panel discussion, offering further opportunities to discover how artists engage with environmental challenges.

Join us for a conversation on how we, as a cultural sector, can contribute to a more sustainable future.
The Ecology of Movement explores the relationship between photography, environmental responsibility and cultural production, asking how ecological awareness might shape the ways images are made, exhibited and experienced.
Curated by Julia Rajacic, the exhibition brings together five photographers who incorporate ecological constraints into their practices. Through different approaches to materials, processes, technologies and environments, their work explores how limitations can become a source of experimentation and creative possibility.
